Monitoring apps

What are they?

Monitoring apps are tools that help you stay aware of what your child is doing online without reading every message or invading their privacy.

They can alert you if your child searches for worrying topics, receives inappropriate content such as sexualised material, is contacted by strangers, or shows signs of bullying or distress. They can monitor all Smart devices in your home or just your child's phone including most apps such as Snapchat, Youtube, WhatsApp etc.

Some apps show which platforms they use most, how long they spend on them, and whether risky content appears on their device.

They’re designed to support safety, not to spy, and can open up important conversations about what your child sees and experiences online.

When used with trust and transparency, monitoring apps help parents step in early if something feels wrong while still giving children space to grow and learn.
